Englar Himins Grétu í dag – KK
FR : KK ou Kristján Kristjánsson est l’un de mes compositeurs islandais préférés. Il a écrit tellement de chansons fantastiques. Celle-ci est l’une des plus belles chansons que j’ai jamais entendues. Je suis toujours un peu ému quand je l’écoute. Elle est si bien arrangée, fragile, et j’adore la façon dont elle explose à la fin.
EN : KK or Kristján Kristjánsson is one of my favorite Icelandic songwriters. He has written so many fantastic songs. This one is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I always get a bit emotional while listening to it. It is so well arranged, fragile and I love how it explodes in the end.
Island – Volcano Choir
FR : J’ai écouté cette chanson en boucle pendant longtemps et j’ai l’impression que cet album a marqué une période de ma vie. Cette chanson en particulier m’a toujours chatouillé les oreilles, avec ses guitares samplées, son rythme fluide et sa production. Elle n’a pas une structure traditionnelle, elle est très exploratoire et j’aime beaucoup ça.
EN : I had this song on repeat for a long time and I feel like this album has shaped a period of my life. This song in particular just always tickled my ears, these sampled guitars, how it flows and the way it is produced. It’s not a traditional song structure, it’s very explorative and I Iike that a lot.
Abandoned Window – Jon Hopkins
FR : Cette chanson me ramène environ 12 ans en arrière, à l’époque où je faisais beaucoup de tournées. Je l’écoutais en boucle dans le bus de tournée pour me détendre avant de m’endormir, et je pense qu’elle m’a beaucoup marqué. Je me sens toujours plus calme quand j’entends cette chanson, qui me rappelle de bons souvenirs d’il y a plusieurs années.
EN : This songs takes me back 12 years ago or so when I was touring a lot. I had it on repeat in the tourbus when I was calming myself down before going to sleep and I think it left a strong impression on me. I always feel calmer when I hear this song and it brings me good memories from many years ago.
Society – Eddie Vedder
FR : J’ai découvert cette chanson en regardant le film Into the Wild. Je ne sais pas combien de fois j’ai vu ce film quand j’étais adolescent, mais cette bande originale d’Eddie Vedder a beaucoup contribué à l’impact émotionnel qu’il a eu sur moi. Cette chanson m’a vraiment marqué et je pense qu’elle a influencé ma façon d’écrire de la musique à l’époque.
EN : I first heard this song through watching the movie Into the Wild. I don’t know how many times I watched that film when I was a teenager and this Eddie Vedder soundtrack had a lot to do with the emotional impact it had on me. This song really stuck with me and I think shaped my way of writing music back in the day.
Neonljusen – Sara Parkman
FR : C’est l’une de mes chansons préférées parmi celles que j’ai entendues ces dernières années. Je crois que je l’ai découverte il y a environ deux ans et je ne m’en lasse pas. La mélodie, sa voix et l’arrangement de la chanson ont quelque chose qui me touche profondément.
EN : This is one of my favorite songs I’ve heard in recent years. Think I heard it first two years ago or so and I can’t get enough, this melody, her voice and the arrangement of the song, something about it that really moves me.
