LCD SOUNDSYSTEM – All my friends
FR : J’ai découvert LCD Soundsystem il y a une bonne dizaine d’années, je suis immédiatement tombé en amour pour le groupe. Je m’étais fait une raison sur le fait de ne jamais les voir en concert puisque James Murphy avait bien précisé après le Madison Square Garden en 2011 que ce serait le dernier concert du groupe. Puis l’année dernière, ils sont revenus. Sur mon agenda d’été j’avais le festival Beauregard et Rock en Seine où je jouais les mêmes jours qu’eux. J’ai cru crever de bonheur. Je me suis mis en tête que j’allais être déçu, ça ne pouvait pas en être autrement après avoir attendu 10 ans pour voir un groupe sur scène.
Les concerts que j’ai vus étaient de loin les plus beaux, dansants, libératoires et si parfaits depuis certainement le concert d’IDLES à l’Élysée Montmartre en 2022 avec Sam. Je suis retourné les voir à New York en décembre dernier. 2h30 de set à couper le souffle, puis pour finir All My Friends comme un hymne absolu d’amour. La manière dont LCD Soundsystem réussit à te prendre et ne pas te lâcher est fabuleuse, la danse constante, les mélodies entêtantes, la joie sur scène … C’est mon groupe préféré.
EN : I discovered LCD Soundsystem a good ten years ago, and immediately fell in love with the band. I’d made up my mind never to see them live, since James Murphy had made it clear after Madison Square Garden in 2011 that this would be the band’s last concert. Then last year, they came back. In my summer diary, I had the Beauregard festival and Rock en Seine on the same days as them. I thought I’d die of happiness. I told myself I was going to be disappointed, it couldn’t be any other way after waiting 10 years to see a band on stage.
The concerts I saw were by far the most beautiful, danceable, liberating and so perfect since certainly the IDLES concert at Élysée Montmartre in 2022 with Sam. I went back to see them in New York last December. A breathtaking 2h30 set, followed by All My Friends as an absolute hymn of love. The way LCD Soundsystem manage to grab you and not let go is fabulous, the constant dancing, the heady melodies, the joy on stage … They’re my favorite band

GORILLAZ – Momentary Bliss (feat. slowthai & SOFTPLAY)
FR : Damon Albarn est clairement l’une de nos plus grandes influences, nous sommes de grands fans de tout son travail, de Blur à ses albums solo, mais Gorillaz prend la première place en raison des multiples couches artistiques qu’il apporte à la table. Cette chanson est tirée de l’album Song Machine qui est sorti pendant Covid et qui accueille une foule d’invités extraordinaires. Comme d’habitude, la musique est incroyable, différente de tout le reste, édifiante, bizarre et magnifique. C’est deux pour le prix d’un car cette chanson contient Slowthai que nous aimons aussi à mort.
EN : Damon Albarn is clearly one of our biggest influences, we are a big fan of all of his work from Blur to his solo albums, but Gorillaz takes first place because of the multiple artistic layers it brings to the table. This song is from the album Song Machine which was released during Covid, and hosts a shit load of amazing guests. As usual the music is amazing, just different to everything else, uplifting and weird and beautiful. It’s two for the price one as this song features Slowthai who we also love to death.

SOULWAX – Do You Want To Get Into Trouble
FR : La maîtrise de Soulwax à mixer l’organique et le synthétique me fascine. Puis les chansons sont comme la rencontre entre Joy Division et Talking Heads qui auraient eux-même rencontrés Kraftwerk et les Daft Punk, c’est juste génial. Je vois en Soulwax un peu la même rencontre que j’ai faite avec Sam, on mélange nos influences sans avoir peur du résultat. Ce sentiment de liberté totale dans la composition, dans notre manière de produire les tracks c’est en grande partie grâce à l’album From Deewee.
Il y a peu d’albums que j’écoute en boucle entièrement mais à chaque fois, ils réussissent à m’embarquer totalement, les morceaux s’enchaînent de manière absolument incroyable. Pareil en live, des synthés modulaires, des guitares et trois batteries, c’est trop bien. Je suis allé les voir à Manchester en 2023, ça fait partie des concerts marquants pour moi de ces dernières années.
EN : I’m fascinated by Soulwax‘s mastery of mixing the organic and the synthetic. Then the songs are like Joy Division and Talking Heads meeting Kraftwerk and Daft Punk, it’s just brilliant. I see Soulwax as a bit like the encounter I had with Sam : we mix our influences without being afraid of the result. This feeling of total freedom in composition, in the way we produce tracks, is largely thanks to the From Deewee album.
There aren’t many albums that I listen to over and over again, but every time I do, I’m totally taken in by them. The same goes for their live show, with modular synths, guitars and three drums, which is just too good. I went to see them in Manchester in 2023, and it was one of the most memorable concerts I’ve seen in recent years.

IDLES – Grace
FR : Une évidence. Nous sommes tous les deux des fanboys, nous sommes allés ensemble les voir à Paris après qu’ils aient dû reporter leur concert initial pendant le Covid. L’énergie de ce concert était incroyable. Les Idles ont été une grande partie de ma vie, leur musique est tellement sincère et positive, leurs concerts sont exactement ce que je recherche, et les paroles abordent des thèmes qui nous sont chers. Love is the fing.
EN : A no-brainer. We’re both fanboys, we went together to see them in Paris after they had to postpone their initial gig during Covid. The energy of that show was something else. Idles have been a big part of my life, their music is so sincere and positive, their live shows are exactly what I’m looking for, and the lyrics tackle themes that are dear to our hearts. Love is the fing.

OASIS – Don’t Look Back In Anger
FR : Je suis fan de Liverpool, mais un de mes endroits préférés au monde c’est Manchester et j’ai été bercé par Oasis depuis gamin. Je suis obligé de les mettre dans les influences de Pamela. Je suis fasciné par le fait d’écrire des chansons qui touchent le cœur des gens, qui donnent envie de gueuler en concert et qui font pleurer.
C’est exactement ça Don’t Look Back in Anger, et j’aimerai ce track toute ma vie. J’aime Oasis pour ça et je pense que mon amour pour les pubs crades vient aussi de là par ailleurs.
EN : I’m a Liverpool fan, but one of my favorite places in the world is Manchester and I’ve been rocked by Oasis since I was a kid. I have to include them in Pamela’s influences. I’m fascinated by writing songs that touch people’s hearts, that make you want to scream in concert and that make you cry. That’s exactly what Don’t Look Back in Anger is, and I’ll love that track for the rest of my life. I love Oasis for that, and I think that’s where my love for dirty ads comes from too.

DAVID BOWIE – Heroes
FR : Le légendaire David Bowie était un choix évident. Il a eu un impact sur moi très tôt, il a changé ma façon de voir la musique. La façon dont il a mélangé différents styles, en se réinventant, en brisant les normes et en influençant la mode. Son œuvre est un chef-d’œuvre. Il m’inspire encore aujourd’hui. Mon véritable héros.
EN : The legendary David Bowie was an obvious choice. He had an impact on me quite early, he changed the way I saw music. The way he mixed different styles, reinventing himself, breaking norms and influencing fashion. His work is a masterpiece. He still inspires me today. My true hero.
